Loverde Builders, Inc. has established a reputation for superb craftsmanship and business practices throughout projects on the North and West Shores of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, Squaw Valley, Big Springs at Northstar and Truckee/Lahontan areas. The majority of our work is negotiated and comes from referrals by past clients, various architects, and project recognition. Loverde Builders focuses on providing a complete turn-key project for our residential and commercial clients. Subject to the client’s wishes, we can provide design, permitting, and coordination with interior and landscape designers,. Once we are selected by a client, we begin to develop preliminary budgets for their review as the design and construction documents are developed. Prior to the start of construction we produce a very detailed schedule that highlights our critical path, as well as alerting the client to decisions that have to be made in a timely manner. Our goal is to provide a rewarding experience for the client through a quality building process.
Owner Rich Loverde graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Architecture. Rich also holds a contractor’s license in both California and Nevada. In 1970, after working for several architectural firms in San Francisco, he accepted a position with Perini Land and Development Company at Lake Tahoe. Rich became the Project Manager for development of the Chambers Landing project in Homewood on Tahoe’s Westshore. His responsibilities covered planning and design, environmental documentation, the entitlement/permit processing as well as construction to bring this prestigious project to a successful conclusion. In 1984, as construction of Chambers Landing was beginning, Rich also became responsible for the development, design, and construction of the $135 million Resort at Squaw Creek.
In 1988, having 20-plus years of construction, architecture and development experience, Mr. Loverde formed an independent construction company, which eventually evolved into Loverde Builders, Inc.. The office of Loverde Builders is located in a very convenient location above the Public Library in the heart of Tahoe City. The staff provides all the necessary functions to expedite administration of the construction process on a full-time basis. Rich makes himself available to his clients seven days a week. Our billing is on a twice-monthly cycle that allows us to pay our subcontractors and suppliers in a timely manner resulting in timely responses to our schedules. With each billing, the owner receives a complete breakdown of every construction line item as to budget, revised budget, changes, past payments, current invoice, cost to date, cost to complete, etc. Our office staff is also available to work with the owner and their interior consultants to expedite the selection and ordering of interior finishes, as well as a variety of miscellaneous requests.

crews produce excellent workmanship , illustrating the pride they take in their work, as well as providing the client with a quality finished product. We work throughout the Winter months unless severe weather conditions prevent us from working safely. We provide benefits to our employees to insure a stable workforce. Loverde Builders can provide construction-only services or work with the client’s consultants to develop a complete turnkey project. Our consultant resources are experienced and qualified in their areas. We have many years of experience in dealing with the multitude of County, State and Federal agencies that oversee development. We know how to build properly for the mountains. Our subcontractors are chosen from a select list produced by many years of experience. We honor our relationships with each other which leads to the maximum product built in as efficient a time frame as possible.
